C.H.A.O.S. 9CHAOS 9 is open to all Grade 9 students enrolled in the Yukon, and will be delivered as an enrichment program to regular courses offered to students at that level. Integration of subject areas, as well as Yukon First Nation and western knowledge will be the focus during the semester. Students that make the commitment to CHAOS 9 will complete English 9, Socials 9, Ancestral Technology 9 and Outdoor Education 9 through their active engagement in the the programming.

English 9Through the integration of reading, writing, oral communication, viewing and presenting, English 9 is designed to develop students' skills and appreciation of literature and language. Many resources have been chosen to reflect the concerns, thoughts, and emotions of the contemporary First Nation perspective, as well as provide a starting point for reflection, comparisons and discussions around culture, history and traditional vs. western knowledge.

Ancestral Technology 9Ancestral Technology allows students to explore, research, document and share the rich and diverse technological and artistic opportunities of Yukon First Nations.
Students learn to use an iPad to research, document, edit and create an eBook of their learning journey. With the assistance fo mentoring adults, students will complete the process of recreating a number of traditional technologies utilized in Yukon. Students will acquire researching and referencing skills. |
Outdoor EducationThis program will enable all learners to enhance their quality of life through active living, the exposure to a variety of activities and the development of skills and attitudes. this course will provide students with a wide range of exciting, challenging and rewarding experiences.
